Using Codex & ChatGPT

You can use OpenAI’s tools like ChatGPT and Codex to extend your exported Buildable projects. These tools are great for generating code snippets, debugging, and learning.

Using ChatGPT

Sharing your code

When working with ChatGPT on your Buildable project:
  1. Share relevant files — paste the component or page you want to modify
  2. Provide context — mention that it’s a Next.js 15 project with Tailwind CSS and TypeScript
  3. Be specific about what you want changed

Example prompts

Using Codex CLI

OpenAI’s Codex CLI can also work with your exported projects:
1

Install

2

Run in your project

3

Make changes

Describe what you want to build or modify. Codex will suggest edits to your project files.
For best results with any AI coding tool, start your exported Buildable project’s dev server (npm run dev) so you can preview changes as you make them.

Tips

  • Always review generated code before committing
  • Test changes thoroughly — AI-generated code may need adjustments
  • Use version control — commit before making AI-assisted changes so you can easily revert
  • Combine tools — use Buildable for rapid prototyping, then AI coding tools for fine-tuning
